What we like
✅ Extra wedge for gripping
✅ Cool design - MMA fighter vibes
✅ Doesn’t feel too hot
✅ Good Mobility
What we don't like
⚠ Rough abrasion towards inner knuckles due to the rough liner - polyester
⚠ Little support on wrist joint
How comfortable does it get?
Irritation - Skin Abrasion/Bruised
The inner and palm lining aren’t the softest. The material feels rough against the skin, and after a short workout, you might notice some abrasion, especially on the knuckles. When striking hard against a punching bag, the friction can lead to soreness. Extended training sessions could cause discomfort, and in some cases, minor abrasions.
Breathability
Since the lining is made of thin Polyester and some small perforations on the palm, there is enough room for breathability on these gloves.
Mobility
With the right size, these gloves fit well—neither too tight nor too loose. They’re not bulky, and the Velcro strap wraps securely around the wrist without excess overhang. Since there’s no additional padding or cuff around the wrist joint, movement remains unrestricted, which can be a plus for mobility but a downside for support.
Durability
The palm lining isn’t reinforced with leather or foam, which helps with drying after training. The gloves are made from synthetic PU leather, which is standard at this price point. With moderate use (about three times per week), they hold up decently before showing signs of cracking.
Is the protection good enough?
Wrist Support: These gloves offer minimal wrist support, making them risky for heavy bag work. The lack of extended padding or a firm wrist cuff means they aren’t ideal for strikes like uppercuts and hooks. However, adjusting the Velcro strap higher up on the wrist can provide some extra stability and reduce accidental bending during those movements.
Knuckles: The foam padding is sufficient for light to moderate training, absorbing impact fairly well. However, the rough polyester lining can cause discomfort and irritation over time. The back padding uses EVA foam, which does a decent job at shock absorption but doesn’t fully compensate for the lack of wrist support.
The Decathlon-Outshock 100 Cardio Boxing Mitts are breathable and lightweight, making them suitable for casual training or cardio workouts. However, the rough lining, limited wrist support, and durability concerns make them less ideal for heavy hitters or long-term use. If protection and comfort are your priorities, you might want to consider other options. One thing for sure, it definitely looks COOL!
